The Purchasing Supervisor will support the Purchasing Manager in the day to day management of the department. The objective is to assist in development and daily management of an efficient, proactive and cost effective purchasing service.
Responsibilities: Provide support for the Manager in planning, development and implementation of processes and purchasing methods. Interface with internal departments to ensure timely processing of enquiries through the purchasing service desk. Manage day to day activities of the Purchasing staff. Ensure all purchasing activities result in the most cost effective on time supply of the required materials to meet contract giver demands. Ensure all items procured comply with cGMP guidelines, agreed contract giver requirements and meet quotation specifics. Ensure that the Purchase Order system is operated and maintained to promote effective communication with internal customers. Review and maintain Inventory re-order reports in conjunction with relevant internal departments. Introduction and management of supplier agreements, including supplier Key Performance Indicators and Rebates where applicable. Management of approved supplier base to ensure that all suppliers maintain a level of performance that is consistent with requirements of Technical Agreement and Master Purchase Agreements. Proactively communicate with suppliers, formally and informally to improving service levels, quality accuracy and communication. Identify suppliers and third party contractors to provide material/services for Clinical Services contracts.
Requirements:
Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred. Working towards Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) preferred. Minimum 4 years experience working in Purchasing field required. Minimum 2 years experience working in a Supervisory role required. MS Office experience, Oracle knowledge preferred. Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
