Marketing Analyst
This position is responsible for creating accurate, timely, and user-friendly information in order to support marketing decisions. A successful marketing analyst is able to work with various tools and data structures to extract meaningful and actionable information across multiple channels, as well as understand the business implications of their analyses and recommendations. This position will conduct various analytical assignments including developing spreadsheet analyses, defining informational needs, gathering and reviewing market and cost data, preparing Profit and Loss reports and trending reports on marketing efforts, interpreting results, and making recommendations for future action. He/she will also provide budget support, and participate in planning and implementing marketing campaigns. This position functions with a considerable amount of autonomy.
Responsibilities:
* Support marketing promotions and monitor data quality. Responsible for data integrity and interpretation, as well as generating and maintaining all data.
* Develop and update profitability models and campaign projections.
* Assist marketing with campaign planning and execution by meeting information needs and providing trending reports, test summaries, and various ad-hoc analyses.
* Interpret the results of campaigns and trends. Draw conclusions from reports and provide written and verbal interpretation and recommendations for future action to various stakeholders throughout the marketing department.
* Document models and data used in them, and any assumptions that were used to modify the data
* Develop a broad understanding of the business, corporate financials and the key drivers, as well as a deep understanding of marketing and corporate goals
* Operate with autonomy in setting up individual analysis, but also work as a team member on projects that require standardization and cooperation from several analysts. Take initiative with related tasks.
* Develop good rapport with all internal areas including Operations, Production, Marketing, Accounting, Database, etc. These areas are a source for much needed information.
* Maintain diplomacy in finding resolution to problems.
Requirements:
* 3+ years previous analysis experience
* Four-year college degree in Business with Marketing or Finance emphasis; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced Degree desired
* Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software and business intelligence tools
* Substantial experience in a Windows operating system environment
* Familiarity with databases
* Budgeting /P&L experience
* Well-developed quantitative and analytical skills, strong organizational skills, flexibility, attention to detail, timeliness, priority setting, problem-solving, action-oriented, drive for results, and strong decision-making skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills - proven experience in communicating and presenting data analysis to non-technical personnel.
