Duties: Leads design team of graphic designers producing graphic and textile designs for menswear lines. Designs prototypes for all graphic designs, mixing media prints with appliqué and embroidery. Gathers information regarding market and fashion trends for upcoming seasons, particularly regarding color, pattern and style projections. Works with product development and design staff, works with supply chain on product supply, and meets with vendors to review the selection of fabrics and materials, studying quality, colors, and textures. Creates new patterns, graphics, logos designs, prints, and related materials for the menswear lines. Adheres to the design policy and standards for the company's specifications and stylistic requirements. Evaluates construction, color, clarity, and quality of textile and design product samples, reporting results to manufacturers. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design or a related field. Three years of progressive graphic design experience in the apparel industry, to include working with design teams to provide innovative on-apparel graphic and textile designs for seasonal and specialty collections; designing prototypes for all on-apparel graphic designs, mixing media prints with appliqué and embroidery; traveling to trade shows, gathering information regarding market and fashion trends for upcoming seasons, particularly regarding color, pattern and style projections; working with product development, design and supply chain staffing, meeting with vendors to review the selection of fabrics and materials and studying quality, colors, and textures; creating new patterns, graphics, logos designs, prints, and related materials for the lines; adhering to the employer's design policy and standards for the company's specifications and stylistic requirements; and evaluating construction, color, clarity, and quality of textile and design product samples, reporting results to manufacturers. Requires overnight travel up to five times a year on trips ranging between two days and two weeks in support of the company's sourcing and manufacturing needs in order to facilitate and coordinate the design and manufacturing process. Must be proficient in using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create on-apparel graphic designs.
