Requirements The mission of the Architecture and Infrastructure Planning group is to provide technology strategy, direction, management, and support to Infrastructure projects and drive successful project execution.

This individual directly manages a team of senior Infrastructure/Enterprise architects as well as senior Project Managers ensuring professional growth and skills development of the staff. This position requires expert knowledge across multiple technology domains, processes and architectures and will direct design efforts of lead architects and other architect managers. This individual will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects, tracking and driving corrective action as needed to ensure completion to schedule and resource constraints. This individual will also oversee design and delivery of technical and reference architecture, roadmaps and technology life cycle plans; the provision of technical consulting and support to business systems delivery; and the delivery of applied technology solutions through project execution.
The scope of activity will cross all Infrastructure and Operations technology domains, including network and data center and compute services, including Windows and Unix servers, storage, database, and endpoints, with specific attention in areas such as virtualization, identity and access management, and choice computing.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
. Supervise Infrastructure/Enterprise Architects and Project Managers, providing performance review, development, feedback, and corrective action as needed to maximize performance. Particular focus required on ensuring balance between team member technical specialization and breadth of knowledge with particular focus on expanding understanding of increasingly converged technologies
. Drive global infrastructure strategy and vision and acting as the resident evangelist with regards to the direction of global enterprise infrastructure architecture.
. Proactively work with the team to identify and create reference architecture where it is required including blueprints and enterprise architecture procedures across Infrastructure and Operations technology domains.
. Lead the team in developing Infrastructure architecture standards, practices, templates across Infrastructure and Operations technology domains that enable the quicker delivery of Infrastructure projects.
. Responsible for developing and maintaining architectural artifacts for one or more strategically significant infrastructure domains.
. Oversee development and delivery of architectural designs, project or system requirements, and process designs for very complex, leading edge solutions and systems, projects, or services.
. Assists team in evangelizing the I&O Roadmap Strategy to stakeholders
. Develops organization skills profile and allocates the proper mix of resources to architectural and project activities
. Foster and engage in teamwork at the highest management and technical levels across various CIS organization groups
. Anticipate and proactively respond to future customer, industry and information technology trends.
. In collaboration with other I&O leaders, establish, practices, and continuously improve support processes to maximize customer satisfaction and resource efficiency
. Apply technical, industry and vendor landscape, businessn and analytical knowledge to develop effective business cases to drive organizational priorities and approaches.
. Manage and coach project managers in planning, estimating, and executing proofs of concept and technology and process projects in alignment with portfolio management and project processes, reference architectures and service roadmaps to deliver quality solutions that are effectively transitioned into support
. Direct and coach project managers in leading and mentoring resources assigned to projects to ensure completion of tasks within project schedule, resource, and quality constraints.
Skills . Oversee standardization and continuous improvement of Infrastructure and Operations project methodologies, including driving adoption and maturation of agile methods as appropriate, in partnership with Project Portfolio Management team and other CIS project organizations.
. Manage individual projects, ensuring delivery of agreed upon scope within schedule and resource constraints as needed.
. Manage performance to cost center budgets, and manage contracts and relationships with vendors.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
. At least 3-5 years of experience managing teams responsible for technology architecture, solution design, or process or project delivery.
. Demonstrated professional experience in all of the of the disciplines below, totaling at least 8-10 years combined:
o Developing or maintaining infrastructure or systems architecture or architecture methodologies
o Managing technology programs or projects
o Developing or supporting IT solutions with senior-level technical experience in at least one Infrastructure and Operations technical domain
. Experience driving directly managed and matrixed teams and individuals with demonstrated record of high performance, accountability, and results
. Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex and often contentious issues; reach consensus and work through people to achieve key goals.
. Excellent track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience, or industry activities
. Excellent team player - collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
. Demonstrated customer focus - evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint
. Excellent analytical skills - strong problem solving skills and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
. Excellent technical and business verbal and written communication skills with executive, business, and technical audiences
. Change oriented - actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways
. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills to coordinate a wide range of assignments by managing dependencies, expectations and effectively communicate with stakeholders and architecture throughout all levels of the organization.
. Successful track record of effective vendor management
Education . Bachelor degree with significant coursework in information technology, computer science, or similar qualifying area, or equivalent experience
