The Shirt off Your Back

Posted by

Achieving greater sales is every business owner’s objective. Advertising is an effective way to do this. Getting the company name and logo out in the public eye is a marketing plus. TV commercials and magazine ads are one way to bring this about, but they can get pretty expensive. Luckily, the big solution isn’t always the best. Sometimes something small and simple makes the big effect you want, like using T-shirts for advertising.

Walking On By

Custom made T-shirts are an inexpensive but effective marketing tool. Depending on the quality of the T-shirts selected, the way your company logo is expressed and how you will distribute the shirts are important things to keep in mind when using T-shirt advertizing. When your company name is on a T-shirt somebody wears, the person wearing it has just become your company emissary in his or her community. By being creative with your T-shirt, you can create conversations about your business or products every time that shirt is worn. Compared to a TV or print ad, people are more likely to remember a business name they wear as opposed to seeing it on something they watch or read about. For even more advertising potential, give your T-shirts to people you know who have a huge network of acquaintances, friends and family. This will enhance your visibility and exposure to potential customers.

How to Do It

Customizing your T-shirts is easy to do. T-shirts also have more space for your company logo or slogan than a coffee cup or pen thus improving visibility. Most marketing experts recommend black, gray or white as a color choice since these colors make your print ad more visible and accented.

There are T-shirt designers and printing companies who specialize in T-shirt printing if you aren’t creative enough or don’t want to tackle the job yourself. The key thing to remember is that you give away quality shirts. The costs may be higher but your shirt will be more comfortable and your potential customers will want to wear them more often. You can also buy your T-shirts in bulk to get more shirts for your money.

The Good Things

By putting your employees and friends to work marketing your product, it’s an easy win for your company. For instance, at networking events or conferences, corporate clothing will stand out among the non-corporate clothing which will draw attention to your business. Creative T-shirts can start conversations and even attract potential employees. Though it has costs, giving away your T-shirts will give you an added edge over your competition. When your T-shirts are of high quality and creative, you can be assured of greater visibility with the potential for increased business sales. T-shirt advertising is an opportunity for marketing, especially for those who are creative; thinking outside the box and running with it.

T-shirt advertising is a small investment for more business. It can build up company awareness and get your company’s names out there, bringing in more business. Never underestimate the simple things in life. And the nice thing is that you can give the shirt off your back, and make money doing it.

Rohit thanks for the comment.  You missed the articles point, it is about selling using T-shirts.  You can cut them up as you like after you own it.

Why should there be an age limit? People should be able to express themselves how ever they want to. If they want to wear cut up clothes and tease their hair up to a mile, that's their choice. If they want to wear bright colored makeup and accessorize with a bunch of jewelry, more power to them. Is it hurting you? No. Let people be who they want to be.
