Account Manager - Grocery

Valley Cooperative Association (VCA) is looking for an experienced Account Manager who can foster strong interpersonal relationships with current and prospective members within an assigned territory. You will have the opportunity to grow your existing client base while prospecting more clients. 

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with assigned customers and target customers through sales calls, event participation, customer relations, prospecting, etc. 
• Communicate with current and potential customers on a regular basis, promoting products and services, providing solutions, and overseeing all account activity.
• Access and manage the sales funnel. 
• Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve and exceed performance objectives and KPI's.
• Utilize VCA sales tools to maintain customer information, sales activities, and additional data.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximize efficiencies and shorten the sales funnel.
• Prepare reports as needed.

• Bachelor Degree with Business/Marketing emphasis preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

• Experience in consultative account management.

• Understanding of the sales process.

• A commitment to excellent customer experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Able to work comfortably in a dynamic environment.

• Approximately 20% overnight travel monthly.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive.

• Sedentary work; office environment.

• Ability to attend customer visits/meetings in which sitting, standing or walking for long periods may be required.
