    Position Overview

    Oversee the day to day activities of the sanitation crew, carry through strategic vision, direction and business performance for CMM. This includes achievement of key operational metrics. Oversee the retention and development of the sanitation team. Plan, direct, and coordinate the sanitation of the plant and all equipment and machinery. Responsible for all aspects of the sanitation activities for the plant. Oversees and ensures accurate ratio of chemicals are used and proper usage of chemicals throughout the plant.

    Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

    • Drives innovative and integrated sanitation operations initiatives in partnership with the CMM Management and other members of the CMM team.
    • Supervises, directs and coordinates activities of all sanitation team members involved in the food manufacturing of CMM Products.
    • Builds and post weekly schedules to the forecasted hours and ensures hours worked are within budget.
    • Maintain daily production boards including productivity, issues and enhancements.
    • Develop, train and coach associates engaged in Sanitation for future career advancement. In addition, ensure associates are trained and adhering to all department and company policies.
    • Ensure associates are providing customer satisfaction through proper sanitation practices to ensure the production facility is ready to produce high quality product.
    • Assists in development of training materials to support department functions. Trains new and existing associates on proper processes and procedures.
    • Creates, updates, and maintains Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures for all required cleaning activities.Ensures all production and packaging equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to defined procedures.
    • Inventories sanitation and cleaning chemicals, supplies, and tools; and submits requests for proper inventory as needed. Communicates with Sanitation Chemical Company Representative to ensure an on-going robust sanitation program and documented chemical safety training.
    • Ensures daily pre-ops and all sanitation paperwork are completed correctly, reviewing signing off all cleaning schedules and controls. Works closely with QA to ensure sanitation compliance with the Environmental Monitoring Program.
    • Establishes team environment through effective motivation, scheduled meetings, and soliciting regular feedback about processes and procedures.
    • Communicates and assist in the resolution of any broken equipment, chemical spills or any other hazards within the production facility.
    • Train and coach associates engaged in CMM sanitation team for future career advancement. In addition, ensure associates are trained and adhering to all department and company policies.
    • Perform work procedures using Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to ensure food safety.
    • Adheres to all safe quality food (SQF) requirements and standards in CMM. Including the proper handling of all produce according to SQF standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    . Requirements:

    Education

    • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field preferably in sanitation and / or the food manufacturing industry.

    Work Hours

    • Must be able to work on a rotating schedule (days and / or nights). This position is primarily third shift hours.

    Environment / Physical Job Requirements

    • Located in a refrigerated production facility environment. Must be able to work in a cold cooler environment (36 degrees and below). Minimal time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. Must be able to stand for periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body and walk.

    • Highly motivated, hands-on, results driven, forward thinking professional who can thrive in a team-oriented environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Bi-lingual (reading, writing and speaking) English and Spanish.
    • Able to work under pressure in a very fast paced environment.
